About The Spectrum Post

Making sense of what matters. Who we are, what we cover across Tech, Money, Business and Culture, how we report and correct our work, and how to reach the The Spectrum Post editorial desk.

The Spectrum Post is an independent publication covering General-interest explainers: tech, money, business, culture. Making sense of what matters — written for Broad, curious general readers, and published on a simple premise: the people who actually do this work deserve the version that survives contact with it.

Why The Spectrum Post exists

Coverage of Tech, Money, Business and Culture tends to split into two unhelpful halves: press releases with a byline attached, and commentary from people who have never had to ship, buy, or live with the thing being discussed. The Spectrum Post was started to sit in the gap — close enough to the subject to know what actually changed, far enough from it to say so plainly.

Our editorial voice is deliberate: clear, explanatory, balanced. That shows up as explainers, features, ranked lists and roundups — whichever format answers the question a reader actually arrived with, rather than whichever one fills the most space.

Who writes here

Every piece on The Spectrum Post carries the name of the person who reported and wrote it. 3 writers currently file for us across Tech, Money, Business and Culture, and each of them keeps a profile page listing their background, their beat, and everything they've published on this site.

Where a story has been independently fact-checked, the reviewer is credited separately from the writer, so you can tell who reported a claim and who checked it. Nothing here is published under a house byline or an invented persona.

What we cover

How we work

  1. We report before we opine

Analysis on The Spectrum Post starts from something checkable — a filing, a release, a data set, a conversation with someone who was in the room. Where we're inferring rather than reporting, the piece says so in the sentence that does the inferring.

  2. Corrections happen in public

When we get something wrong we fix it in place and note the correction on the article itself, with what changed and when. We don't quietly edit a mistake out of the record.

  3. Commercial relationships never buy coverage

Some links may be sponsored. Coverage is independent. Sponsored links are marked where they appear and carry the appropriate link attributes. No sponsor sees a story before publication, and no commercial relationship decides whether a topic gets covered or what we conclude about it.

  4. We write for the person doing the work

This site is written for Broad, curious general readers — not for a search engine, and not for an industry insider looking to be flattered. If a piece can't survive being read by someone who does this for a living, it isn't ready to publish.
